Fear The Living Dead
Boston was taken over by the walking dead and people couldn't get enough. The Walker Stalkers did it again and hosted another fantastic convention honoring the hit AMC series, The Walking Dead. The Boston Westin on the Waterfront was ready for anything and that included zombie cosplayers, sword wielding super fans and even a few Daryl wannabes. It was a weekend full of all things zombies and all the horror fun one can possibly want in one weekend. Plus, more celebrities than should be allowed in one hotel.
Guests included David Morrissey who played one of the scariest villains the show had ever seen, The Governor. Although this was before we had any idea what we were getting into with Neegan. Still, fans were ecstatic to witness Morrissey's hour-long panel on Sunday afternoon. He shared his thoughts on whether or not The Governor had any humanity or if he was simply an evil man. The consensus? He was bordering turning around and becoming a "decent" guy but the moment he had something to lose all bets were off.
Morrissey however, could not have been more humble and grateful for all the love and support his fans has given him, despite playing such a terrible man. This talented actor's fan base spans further than just Walking Dead fans. Morrissey appeared on the immensely popular BBC series, Doctor Who, and fans devoured the character gleefully. Despite being forthcoming, the British actor was quick to stay tight lipped when asked who would win in a battle between The Governor and Neegan. Now that would be an epic fight. Who do you think would win? In one of the best moments of the panel, cupcakes were brought out and the entire audience sang "Happy Birthday," to Morrissey (click here to watch the video) |
For those who wanted to find memorabilia for their collection, well the vendor rooms had plenty to offer. With wall-to-wall collectibles and some one-of-a-kind jewelry. The lower level of the hotel was dedicated to all things Zombie including a live-action zombie shootout.
Some vendor tables offered zombie-face paint while others enabled co-goers to play Walking Dead trivia or just browse through some rare collectibles. Actors were readily available to speak with fans and sign autographs at their booths and of course, for those who wanted a high quality photo they could purchase a photo op with their favorites. |
We would be remiss if we didn't discuss one of the weekend's highlights, Cassandra Peterson, better known to the world as Elvira. The Goddess of horror made a rare appearance dressed as her famed character to pose with fans on Saturday.
It was a spectacular thing to see the type of influence she has on all generations of fans. Her panel was one of our favorites and her story is mind-blowing, inspirational and something not to be forgotten. She is a one-woman empire and took the brand that she created and made it her life's work. How many other people can say they've done this? We did however, get some juicy information about her and one Elvis Presley. Want to know what she had to say about the King? Click here! |

Saving Star City at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest
Star City was in peril but the Green Arrow was nowhere to be found. Why? He was saving the fans in attendance at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Thousands of people flocked to the Meadowlands Convention Center to meet their favorite actors from Arrow, Gotham, and D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow. The convention, run by the same men who created the Walker Stalker Conventions, lasted throughout the weekend with everything from games, panels, a slew of sensational vendors and of course the stars. The Meadowlands Convention Center was filled to the brim with incredibly talented vendors selling artwork that most people can only dream of producing. Authors, painters, fashion designers and even vampire teeth creators, awaited the anxious fans. Many of which, stopped to check out what trinkets they could purchase while others ran to their favorite actors’ booth. |

One highlight of the weekend was Milo Ventimiglia of Gilmore Girls and Heroes fame. The talented actor who played bad boy, Jess on the feel-good CW show, Gilmore Girls, took time with each fan to speak with them, take pictures with them and give them the kind of attention they could only dream of receiving from their favorite celebrity. Although he is filming a new season of Gilmore Girls, exclusively for Netflix, Ventimiglia boasted about his upcoming NBC series, This is Us, beginning in the fall.

Despite the large line Ventimiglia has, it seemed as though most fans ran immediately to John Barrowman’s table. The actor, known for his roles as Captain Jack in the BBC hit series Doctor Who and of course Malcom Merlin on Arrow has become a fan favorite. He is always engaging and welcoming to his admirers and has been known to pose for some of the best photo ops around. But even Barrowman couldn’t compare with Arrow star, and highlight of the convention, Stephen Amell.
Amell, despite his fame, remains humble and grateful to his fans and this fact was clear throughout the entire weekend. Most notably during his panel with Cody Rhodes, formerly known as the WWE Wrestler, Stardust. Both stars gushed about how grateful they were to the fans for their support and love. A few months ago Amell appeared on the WWE and fought Stardust in a match that won’t soon be forgotten. It was all in good fun of course, as it was clear that the two are really great friends.

Fans didn’t know it as they filed into their seats for the panel, but they would be witness to breaking news involving Rhodes and Arrow. A few moments before the event began Rhodes got the call from his manager informing him that he would be appearing in the new season of Arrow. Although he was glib about his role on the show, the excitement both Amell and Rhodes felt about the news was clear. This breaking news was talked about for the duration of the weekend. This convention had everything and fans who were brave enough could try their hand at archery. Although, from what this reporter could tell, none of them quite had the skills of their idol, Oliver Queen. Still, many tried and had a blast in doing so. The event seemed to be going off without a hitch and despite the long waits for autographs and photo ops every single fan had a glorious time. No one left empty handed or disappointed and the actors were truly grateful and welcoming to their fans. This was an event that was one for the books and one we would highly recommend our readers to attend. It is guaranteed to be a good time. |
Feeding The Beast With AMC
AMC is known for creating fascinating shows that ooze excitement and creativity. From zombies to to motorcycle riding badasses, every show is better than the last and now they’re adding a new series to the list of exceptional shows.
Feed The Beast, AMC’s delicious new series starring David Schwimmer (Friends) and Jim Sturgiss (Across The Universe) is lighting a fire on the channel that is already number one with fans. Recently we had the pleasure of attending the red carpet premiere of the new series and spoke with its youngest cast member, Elijah Jacob.
Here is how our adorable interview went down:
ANDREAS BURGOS: What has your experience on the show been like so far?
ELIJAH JACOB: This is my first big TV series and it’s been a great experience because everyone working on the show have been so great and welcoming. They made me feel so comfortable. I’ve gained a second family.
AB: What is your favorite food?
EJ: I like to cook. Breakfast is what I do. I like French Toast, omelets, eggs, waffles.
AB: Who taught you to cook?
EJ: My mom did help me. But sometimes I would do it on my own. At first she would help me cook breakfast on Saturday mornings but after that I started to do it by myself.
AB: So do you ever go up to David Schwimmer or Jim Sturgiss and say “move over I got this?”
EJ: One time they were frying some stuff and I was joking around and said “I can fry the broccoli. I can do everything you’re doing.
AB: If you could open your own restaurant, what would the theme be?
EJ: Breakfast, somewhere you can get a home cooked meal. I would like to have an action restaurant where you walk in the door and everyone is interrogating you.
